How we work - Letterpress

Rather than offering a series of templated designs we encourage you to work with us to capture the style, size, typography, design and colours that allow you to make the impression you want. However, any of the designs illustrated on our website can be modified for text, type and colour, provided that size and shape permit.

We can work with your artwork including incorporation of specific design requirements such as logo, PMS colours, line art etc; and will forward you our file/artwork requirements to ensure the best results and fastest turnaround time.

Consultation: First step is to meet with you to discuss your requirements and ideas. If that is not possible we work very successfully with many clients via email and phone; please visit the contact page for details. During the consultation process we gather as much information as possible including:

- What are your stationery needs - eg Save the Date cards, invitations, RSVP cards, Thank You cards, Maps/directions etc and envelopes.

- Size, quantity

- Style, colour/s of stock

- Design Elements including type, colour/, borders, illustration, layout.

- Timelines.  Allow at least 4 weeks after consultation with Atelier for design completion, proofing, changes, printing, and then delivery.  We will accomodate rush orders for a fee of between 25 - 50% of the total cost of the work dependant on requirements and urgency. For example If you are planning to send out invitations six weeks prior to your event then you would need to contact us approximately 3 months in advance of your event date.

Quotation: Once we have your requirements we will forward you a quotation. To proceed we forward you a simple service agreement containing costing, deliverables and key dates.

Design and Proofing: Design commences only once a signed agreement is received with a deposit of 50% of the total amount (inc GST). At this time all text/wording, colour/s and artwork (if required) is to be provided, including text for printed envelopes.  We will then forward you a proof in pdf format (which will illustrate the full design and any colour separations). Once design/artwork commences the deposit is non refundable.

Review and final proof: At this time all wording, punctuation, spelling, type and colours are to be thoroughly reviewed and any changes made. When the proof is signed off we will proceed to print.

We include one round of proofing and changes in the original costing. Further changes may incur a change in overall costing; however you will be notified if this is the case prior to proceeding.

Press: We go to print. We notify you once printed; this is when the balance in full is to be paid prior to delivery including all shipping costs.

Pricing: We do not publish a price list as there are many elements that will influence the price and our designs are customised.

Spares: We will print a small quantity of spares for you to allow changes in your guest list etc . Going back to print once the run is completed is costly and takes time; so it is best to consider your total requirements during the consultation process.

How we work - Calligraphy

We can write your invitee names on your invitations and address your envelopes, incorporate calligraphy into a design or do your whole invitation in calligraphy for a distinctive and original touch. The suitability for stock for calligraphic inks and scripts has already been taken into consideration in our stock choices; we will discuss this with you during the consultation to ensure that any calligraphic elements will compliment and enhance your stationery in style and colour. We will require a full list type written list preferably in Word.doc format of your guests names and addresses (if addressing envelopes) before printing is completed. Add one to two weeks to the overall time if calligraphy is to be added to your invitations or envelopes.
